Preliminary Written Test – (100 Marks)
Candidates provisionally considered eligible will have to appear in an MCQ based Preliminary Written Test which is qualifying in nature. There would be 100 objective type questions having multiple choice (four choices) of answers carrying equal marks each. The duration of this tests will be 1(one) hour.
Questions of the Preliminary Written Test shall be from the following Subjects –
- General Awareness and General Knowledge : 50 Marks
- Elementary Mathematics (Madhyamik Standard) : 30 Marks
- Reasoning : 20 Marks
All the candidates who qualify in the Physical Measurement Test (PMT) & Physical Measurement Test (PET) will be called to appear in the Final Written Examination to be conducted by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board.
Final Written Examination – (85 Marks)
The Final Written Examination will have 85 Multiple Choice Objective Type Questions carrying equal marks each. The duration of the examination will be 1 (One) hour. Question paper will be set in two languages except questions on English language. Question of the Final Written Examination shall be from the following subjects:-
A. General Awareness and General Knowledge – 25 Marks
B. English – 25 Marks
C. Elementary Mathematics (Madhyamik standard) – 20 Marks
D. Reasoning and Logical Analysis – 15 Mark

On the basis of the marks obtained in the Final Written Examination and the Interview, a merit list of the provisionally selected candidates will be prepared by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board.
West Bengal Police Warder Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Candidates who qualify in PMT will be allowed to take part in PET which consists of 1600 Meters run within 06 minutes 30 seconds.

Candidature of those who submit more than one application form will be rejected summarily and the amount of application and/or processing fees will be forfeited. The Board reserves the right to rectify the errors and omissions, if any, in the process of holding the examination and final declaration of result.
Candidates dissatisfied with his Physical Measurement Test (PMT) during field test may appeal in writing before the Chairperson, of the Selection Board/Committee on the same day of his tests. No appeal in this regard will be entertained in future. xviii) The height of a candidate may be re-measured at any stage including the Interview at the discretion of the Board and the decision of the Board shall be final and binding on the candidates.

About -West Bengal Police Department
The West Bengal Police is one of the two police forces of the Indian state of West Bengal. (The other is the Kolkata Police, which has a separate jurisdiction.)
The West Bengal Police was reorganized under provisions of the Police Act 1861 during the British Raj. It is headed by an officer designated as the Director General of Police who reports to the State Government through the Home (Police) Department. Shri Virendra, an IPS officer of 1985 batch is the DG & IGP of West Bengal Police since June 1, 2018.
The West Bengal Police has jurisdiction concurrent with the eighteen revenue districts of the State (excluding the metropolitan city of Kolkata) which comprises one of the two general police districts of West Bengal as under the Police Act 1861. The other general police district consists of the major portions of the metropolitan area of Kolkata, and has a separate police force (Kolkata Police) constituted and administered under the Calcutta Police Act 1866 & Calcutta (Suburban Police) Act 1866. This arrangement, unique in India, was conceived during colonial times when Calcutta was the capital of British India. The city police have been kept independent of the state police force.
