About IOCL JE
Paradip Refinery is IndianOil’s 11th Refinery. It was dedicated in the service of the nation by PM Shri Narendra Modi on February 7, 2016. Envisioned as the Energy Gateway to Eastern India, the 15 MMTPA Refinery has been set up at an estimated cost of Rs. 34,555 crore. The foundation stone for the refinery was laid by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in May 2002.
It will produce 5.6 million tonnes per annum of diesel,3.79 million tonnes of petrol and 1.96 million tonnes of kerosene/ATF. Besides 790,000 tons of LPG and 1.21 million tonnes of pet-coke would also be produced.
The refinery sent out its first consignment of products comprising diesel, kerosene, LPG on November 22, 2015. Presently, the refinery would produce petrol and diesel of Bharat Stage IV (BS IV) and later will switch to BS VI quality to comply with Auto Fuel Policy.
