IOCL Apprentice Eligibility Criteria
IOCL Technician Apprentice
- 3 years Diploma course in Engineering in the relevant disciplines from a recognized Institute/ University.
- Diploma in relevant disciplines are Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering
IOCL Trade Apprentice
- Matric with 2(Two) year ITI (Relevant trade) – full time, regular course from recognized Institute/ University.
- The relevant trades are Fitter, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, Machinist Trade.
- Trade Apprentice (Accountant): Graduate in any discipline from a recognized Institute/ University.
IOCL Educational Qualification
- Candidates must have completed Matric ITI And 3 years Diploma in respective specialization from a recognized Institute/University with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate for General & OBC candidates and 45% in case of SC/ST/PWBD in relevant trade from recognized board or institute.
Indian Oil Apprentice Age Limit
- Candidates applying for the post of the IOCL Head Constables must have 18 years age and not exceeded 24 years of age
- Check the notification for age limit and relaxation.
- 5 years for SC/ST Category
- 3 years for OBC Category
- Others as per govt rules.

IOCL Apprentice Selection Process
The selection of candidates to the post of through Indian Oil Recruitment will be done these stages comprising the following:
- written examination
- Interview
The Selection process would consist of two stages i.e written test & personal interview.
The written test and interview would carry a weightage of 85 % and 15 % respectively.
The written test will be of 90 Minutes duration & would comprise of objective type Multiple choice (MCQ’s) questions.
The questions will be in English and Hindi.
Scheme of Written Examination:
For Trade Apprentice/Technician Apprentice – Technical Acumen in relevant discipline, Generic Aptitude including Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Abilities, Basic English Language Skills
For Trade Apprentice (Accountant) – Generic Aptitude including Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Abilities & Basic English Language Skills
The final selection will be made on the basis of the merit list prepared
NOTE – Candidates, who had training or job experience for a period of one year or more after, shall NOT be eligible.
Candidates possessing higher professional qualification such as B.E or equivalent, MBA or equivalent or MCA/LLB/CA/ICWA etc. shall not be eligible.
